About Me

Hi, I’m Coral! I am a 200hr RYT (registered yoga teacher) based in North Carolina serving an in-person and online community.

My Mission

My goal is to provide a more inclusive and accessible yoga atmosphere for individuals who may struggle to feel comfortable in traditional yoga spaces. The word “yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit root “yuji” meaning “to yoke” or “ to join”. Emphasizing the union between body, breath, and mind that this practice cultivates through physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. I truly believe that yoga is for everyone, and that just because you may not be the most flexible, strong, or mobile person doesn’t mean you can't reap the rewards of this beautiful practice. Through the use of yoga props and pose modifications I ensure that all of my classes are inclusive and adaptable to the needs of my students. 

 

Whether you're new to yoga or looking to restart your yoga practice, I hope that I can provide you with a safe and welcoming space to explore this practice in a way that works best for you and your body. I look forward to you joining me on the mat.

My Journey

I was inspired by my own personal yoga journey to create this online and community based yoga space. As someone who struggles with social anxiety I had such a hard time allowing myself to feel fully present and in the moment in in-person yoga class, on top of that I felt so intimidated and out of place. I would sit in the back of a yoga class and notice that I wasn’t as strong or flexible as the other attendees. The teacher would que for us to do a pose and I feIt as though I was left out of an inside joke as everyone around me would execute a pose flawlessly, while I was left in the back unsure of what I was supposed to be doing. I would leave classes feeling discouraged.I decided to switch from in-person yoga classes to online yoga classes and DVDs. After making this switch I started to fall in love with the practice of yoga. In January of 2023 I decided to embark on my Yoga Teacher Training(YTT) journey, this sparked an even deeper love and respect for the practice of yoga. During my training I learned about yoga philosophy, how to utilize props within your practice, how to teach people at different stages in their own personal practice, and how to use yoga as a tool to help you truly connect to yourself. During my YTT journey it became very clear to me that I wanted to create a safe and inclusive online space for people to come and enjoy yoga at their own pace, on their own time, while also enriching my community.

 

Since becoming a yoga teacher I have taught over 100+ hours of classes ranging from virtual yoga sessions via zoom, virtual private yoga sessions, in person sessions with high school teachers to teach them mindfulness and grounding techniques, and lead mindful stretching and mobility sessions to high school sports teams to help aid in their performance and recovery.

A little more about me

When I’m not connecting with you on the mat I can be found hanging out with my partner and our 3 year old rescue pitbull mix, cozied up reading a book, or standing in the pit at a rock concert. I have maintained a personal yoga practice for 12 years and in June of 2023 I officially became a yoga teacher.

The virtual studio is designed for you to have access to an inventory of videos with different themes to meet you where you're at in the comfort of your own home. It is also perfect for when you are on the go and want to get in a quick practice, but can't find a studio. The studio has a little something for everyone. Videos can be purchased individually, or by purchasing an on-demand membership you will have 24/7 access to all the videos any time anywhere. Invest in yourself and deepen your practice by booking a private 1:1 session. After our initial consultation we will schedule and dive into a private session where your individual needs will be meet. Whether you want to expand your practice, learn how to modify your favorite poses, take things slower, or if 1:1 work is just more comfortable for you, I am here to provide the comfort and support you have been looking for.
